Getting to Annobon is genuinely difficult, which is most of the reason the island sees almost no tourists. The only regular connection is by air from Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, on Ceiba Intercontinental or CEIBA Airlines — flights are infrequent and schedules change. There are no passenger ferry services to the island.
Permission from the Equatorial Guinean government is required to visit — the process involves obtaining a tourist visa and, in practice, often requires additional letters of permission. Contact the Equatorial Guinean embassy well in advance. The Annobon Airport has a short runway capable of handling small aircraft only.
