The extinct volcanic peak at the centre of Annobon island, rising to around 655 metres above sea level. Quioveo is surrounded by one of the most intact patches of tropical cloud forest in the Gulf of Guinea — the island's isolation has meant that the forest has been largely spared from the clearing that has affected similar ecosystems on the African mainland.
The climb from San Antonio de Palé is serious — the trail is steep and poorly marked, the vegetation dense, and guides are essentially required. The reward at the top is a view across the entire island, the blue Gulf of Guinea in every direction, and the crater lake below. Allow a full day for the ascent and descent.
