Akébé is one of Libreville's biggest residential neighbourhoods, inland from Quartier Louis and Mont-Bouet. The streets are unpaved in places, the houses a sprawl of concrete and corrugated metal, and the markets along the main road are some of the cheapest in the city. It is not a tourist neighbourhood; visit if you want to see how most of the capital actually lives.
