Takoradi has a small domestic airport (IATA: TKD) with daily flights from Accra on Africa World Airlines and African Express. The flight takes about 45 minutes. By road, Takoradi is about 230 km west of Accra along the coastal N1 highway; with light traffic, the drive takes 3.5 to 4 hours by private car or 4 to 5 hours by STC bus, which runs regular services from Accra's Neoplan Bus Terminal. A new railway line to Accra has been in various stages of planning and construction for years; check the current status locally.
