Voile de la Mariée (Bridal Veil Falls)

The Voile de la Mariée — Bridal Veil Falls — are a series of cascades near the village of Kinkon, south of Dalaba. The falls spread across a wide basalt face in thin threads of white water that do indeed resemble a bridal veil, particularly in the wet season when multiple streams run across the full width of the escarpment. The setting is striking: the plateau edge drops suddenly, and the falls emerge from dense forest above.

The walk from the nearest road takes about an hour each way through secondary forest. This is good Fouta Djallon territory — red laterite soil, rocky outcrops, patches of gallery forest in the valleys. Combined with the main Ditinn Falls as a multi-day itinerary, they form one of the best waterfall circuits in Guinea. Ask at the Centre d'Accueil in Dalaba for current conditions and guide recommendations.
