Almost everything to do in Naro Moru involves Mount Kenya. The Naro Moru route is the shortest and most direct of the four main climbing routes on the mountain, taking trekkers through forest, moorland, and the famous Vertical Bog up to the peaks at Point Lenana. The town itself is a staging post — supplies, guides, and a place to acclimatise before the climb.
