Inside the reserve you need a vehicle for most movement. Tracks can be rough and exposed, and distances along the shore are longer than they look from the viewpoints.
Around the hot springs, walk only where guides or signs indicate. Thin crust, boiling water, and slippery mineral deposits make casual wandering a bad idea.
