Fisherman's Point is the most accessible and beginner-friendly of Robertsport's surf breaks — a long, gentle right-hander that breaks over a sandy bottom just off the small fishing beach in town. The wave is mellower and slower than Cottons Point, and is the standard place to take a first lesson or to log easy waves on a softboard.
Local instructors run lessons from the beach in season, and the rental boards are good enough for the conditions. Even non-surfers find this a good beach to watch — the line-up sits between the fishing pirogues coming in with the morning's catch and the kids on bodyboards in the shorebreak.
