The Robertsport "ghost ship" is the rusting hulk of a small oil tanker that grounded on a remote stretch of beach near the town in 2009. The crew were never accounted for and the circumstances of the grounding were never fully explained — making the wreck one of those coastal oddities that travellers go out of their way to see.
Reaching it involves a long beach walk from town or a hire of a local boat. The hull is dramatic but unstable; do not climb on it, and be aware that the surrounding sand and surf are sometimes contaminated by residual fuel. As a sight it is brief, but as a piece of recent maritime mystery it is hard to beat.
