The pousse-pousse is the default transport for short distances in Antsirabe — they are everywhere, fast enough for town, and extremely cheap. Negotiate the fare before you set off. For longer trips within the area, taxis are available from the main taxi stand near the market.
Cycling is practical for day trips to Lac Andraikiba and the surrounding countryside; bicycle hire is available near the town centre. Betafo, 20 km away on a flat road, is a popular half-day cycling destination. Lac Tritiva (20 km but on a rough, hilly road) is better reached by taxi. Town navigaton on foot is easy — the centre is compact.
