Most of the bar life on Nosy Be is concentrated along the Madirokely-Ambatoloaka strip, where a string of small beach bars stay open late. Locally distilled rum arrangé — flavoured with vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, lychee or whatever else the bartender has steeped that week — is the standard digestif and worth working through slowly. Three Horses Beer (THB) is the national lager.
