Ranomafana is usually reached by road from Fianarantsoa, about 60 km away, or as part of a longer RN7 itinerary. The road is scenic but slow, and night travel is not a good idea.
Public transport can get you to the village, but a private vehicle or arranged transfer makes park visits much easier, especially for early starts and night walks. Confirm guide arrangements and park fees before setting out.
