Casela World of Adventures is a nature and leisure park on the west coast, in the Rivière Noire district between Tamarin and Flic en Flac. The original attraction was a bird park hosting some 140 species of birds from around the world, including the Mauritian Pink Pigeon — one of the rarest birds on earth, still clawing back from near-extinction after a serious conservation effort.
The park has expanded significantly and now offers safari jeep rides, zip lines, quad biking, and walking experiences with big cats (lions and cheetahs). The safari element is the main draw for many visitors — Mauritius isn't a traditional safari destination, so seeing African wildlife here has an incongruous appeal that either works for you or doesn't. The park also has giant tortoises, some of which are over a century old.
Entry fees and activity prices are on the high side for Mauritius; check the website for current rates before going.
