Eating Out

Chamarel has a handful of places to eat, mostly clustered around the Seven Coloured Earth and the Rhumerie de Chamarel. The options are limited by the village's small size, but quality is generally good — the best restaurants here take advantage of Mauritius's excellent local produce and fresh fish. Most visitors eat lunch here while doing a day circuit of the southwest, so the busiest time is midday. Booking ahead for dinner is advisable since some places keep shorter evening hours.
