Agadir Beach

Agadir's beach is the defining feature of the city — 9 km of gently curving, clean sand along a sheltered Atlantic bay, backed by the promenade of Boulevard du 20 Août and a wall of hotels. The water is calm relative to the open Atlantic coast further north; the bay's sheltered position and prevailing swells make it reliable for swimming from April through October. Surfing is also possible, particularly at the northern and southern ends of the bay.

The beach is organised rather than wild: sunbeds and parasols for hire, beach cafes, vendors. The southern end near the marina is the cleanest and least crowded. The promenade behind the beach is good for an evening walk — it runs the full length of the bay and is lined with cafes, restaurants, and argan oil stalls.
