The Souq El Had on Rue Ben Brahim is the main market for spices, leather goods, clothing, and crafts. Prices are negotiable and generally lower than in the beach-area shops. The Marché Municipal in the city centre is more manageable and slightly more expensive. Argan oil — produced in the region around Agadir — is the best souvenir: genuine cold-pressed oil is sold in the souq and by cooperatives outside town.
