Spring and autumn — April through June and September through October — are the best times for Ifrane. The cedar forests are at their best, the macaque families are active, and the temperatures are mild. Summer draws Moroccans fleeing the heat of Fès, Meknès, and the coast; the town fills up and accommodation prices rise, but the climate is genuinely pleasant (rarely above 25°C).
Winter is cold — temperatures drop below freezing regularly, and snow is common from December through February. This is when the Michlifen ski resort comes alive. If you're coming for skiing, January to February gives the best chance of proper snow, though snowfall varies year to year.
