From Marrakesh, take a bus or grand taxi to Asni (about 1 hour, 45 km on the S501). Asni is the end of regular public transport; from there, shared pick-up trucks and taxis run the remaining 17 km up to Imlil along a mountain road. The drive from Asni is spectacular as the valley narrows and the villages become increasingly Berber in character. The total journey from Marrakesh takes about two hours. Private taxis from Marrakesh direct to Imlil are straightforward to arrange and take around 1.5 hours.
