CAF Refuge

Trekkers' hub with guides and trail info for Toubkal

The Club Alpin Français refuge in the centre of Imlil village functions as the main information point for trekkers. Its noticeboard lists registered guides, current trail conditions, and accommodation options up the valley. Guides can be hired here directly; they are licensed by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Skiing and Mountaineering. The refuge also has basic dormitory accommodation and is the starting point for almost all treks into the Toubkal massif.

The guides bureau beside the refuge is the best place to fix up a multi-day trek on the spot. Prices are regulated and negotiable only within set bands; the posted rates cover guide fees per day and mule hire separately. If you arrive without plans and want to go beyond Toubkal — into the Azzaden valley, up over the Tizi n'Ouanoums pass, or through to the Ourika valley — this is where to start the conversation.
