Lalla Aïcha is the city's principal public park, a leafy ten-hectare space south-west of the medina with a small zoo, gardens, a lake, and a children's play area. Families gather here in the late afternoon, particularly on Friday and Sunday. The park is at its most attractive in spring; in midsummer the shade is welcome but the lake is sometimes low.
