Cap Beddouza

Cap Beddouza is a dramatic Atlantic headland 11 km north of Safi, with a lighthouse on the cliff edge and wild surf breaking against the rocks below. The beaches either side of the cape are long, exposed, and largely empty — serious surf country, not swimming beaches. On clear days you can see back south along the coast to Safi and north toward Essaouira.

The road out to the cape passes through small fishing villages and argan tree scrubland. It is a good excursion by car or taxi from Safi for the scenery alone, even if you have no interest in surfing. The lighthouse itself is not open to the public but the viewpoint beside it is.
