A small but pretty waterfall sits about 1.5 km west of the medina, reached by a straightforward walk through the hillside above town. The approach follows the river upstream through gardens and orchards before the path steepens toward the falls.
The cascade is not dramatic in scale, but the setting is cool and green in a way that feels like a luxury compared to the dusty streets below. In summer, when Sefrou is noticeably cooler than Fes but still warm, locals come here in the late afternoon to sit by the water. It is a fine example of the kind of everyday escape that Moroccan towns often have and tourists rarely find.
The walk there and back takes about an hour at a comfortable pace from the medina gate.
