Eating Out

Taza is not a tourist town and its restaurant scene reflects that. Dining out in the formal sense is less common here than in the bigger Moroccan cities; most eating happens at home or in casual settings. For travellers, the options are limited but adequate.

Les Deux Rives on Avenue Oujda is the best-regarded restaurant in town — a clean, pleasant place serving Moroccan standards (tajines, pastilla, soups, salads) at reasonable prices (25–50 Dirhams for a main).

Café Picasso on Avenue Mohammed V is one of the few cafes comfortable for women travelling alone. Good for breakfast (petit-déjeuner with coffee or fresh orange juice).

For street food and market eating, the souks of the Ville Nouvelle around Place de l'Indépendance have vendors selling bread, olives, dried fruit, and prepared snacks throughout the day. Hotel restaurants in Taza-Bas offer reliable if uninspiring Moroccan and international food.
