Hero Square, or Praça dos Heróis, is one of central Inhambane's civic reference points. The monument and open square connect the town's colonial street grid with Mozambique's post-independence public memory.
It is a quick stop rather than a long attraction, but it belongs on a walk through Inhambane's old centre. Pair it with the cathedral, waterfront, and dhow harbour to get a fuller picture of the town beyond the beach traffic heading to Tofo.
