Töpfers Konditorei

Famous Namibian bakery serving German-style bread, strudel, and pastries since the colonial era

Töpfers Konditorei is one of the most famous bakeries in Namibia — a colonial-era institution that has been baking German-style bread, strudel, and cakes in Outjo for generations. Namibia's German heritage is strongest in the food: Konditorei, Bäckerei, and Metzgerei (delicatessen) culture survived the end of German colonial rule and still operates in towns like Outjo, Swakopmund, and Lüderitz.

The Konditorei is a good stop for breakfast or coffee before the drive to Etosha. The apple strudel is the house speciality. It also sells packed lunches and provisions for the road — useful for Etosha visitors, since food inside the park is expensive.
