The only fixed date for visiting In-Gall is the Cure Salée, held in mid-September at the end of the rainy season. The exact dates change year to year and are announced by the Nigerien Ministry of Culture a few months in advance. The week of the festival is the only time when the town has more visitors than residents, and is the only practical time to see the Wodaabe Gerewol.
Outside September, the cooler dry-season months from November to February are the only realistic time to visit. Daytime temperatures are around 28–32°C; nights can drop to 5°C in December and January. From March to June the heat becomes severe — 45°C and dust storms are normal — and the brief July–August rains turn unpaved roads to mud. Across all seasons, security conditions must be checked before travel.
