Cathedrale de Maorey is one of central Niamey's more visible Christian landmarks, standing near the Grand Marche and the older Maorey quarter. In a predominantly Muslim city, the cathedral is a useful reminder of Niger's smaller Catholic community and the layered religious life of the capital.
It is a short stop, not a destination to plan a day around. Combine it with the market or the National Museum area, and be discreet with photography unless someone on site says it is fine.
