Calabar has its own airport, Margaret Ekpo International Airport, with domestic flights from Lagos (about an hour) and Abuja. Most visitors arrive by air — the road journey from Lagos is long and the routes through the Niger Delta are not the most straightforward.
From Abuja by road, the journey through the interior takes around 10–12 hours. Within Cross River State, shared taxis and minibuses connect Calabar to Ikom, Ogoja, and other towns. For Cross River National Park, the Oban and Okwangwo divisions are accessed via Ikom and Obudu respectively — arrange transport through your hotel or a local guide in Calabar.
