The Moremi Statue honours Moremi Ajasoro, the Yoruba queen remembered in Ile-Ife as a symbol of courage and freedom. Unveiled in 2016, the monument stands close to the city's main cultural sights and is often described as one of the tallest statues in Nigeria.
It works best as a short stop while visiting the Ife National Museum, Ooni's Palace, and the other sacred and royal sites around the old centre.
