Ile-Ife's principal draw is its role as the cradle of Yoruba civilisation, and the city wears that history seriously. The Ife National Museum is the centrepiece, but the Ooni's Palace, the campus of Obafemi Awolowo University, and the town's sacred groves all reward a day or two of exploration.
