Getting There

Yakubu Gowon Airport (JOS) is a 30-minute drive south of the city, served by domestic flights from Lagos and Abuja. Frequencies vary — at times there have been daily Air Peace or Aero Contractors flights, at others the schedule has been thinner. Check current schedules close to the trip.

By road, Abuja is around four hours west via the A237 — the most common overland route for travellers. Taxis and shared minibuses run the route, but most visitors prefer to hire a car with a driver. Kaduna is around five hours north. Long-distance buses connect Jos to most major Nigerian cities, but the road network is variable; for any longer overland trip take advice on current conditions before you set out.
