Finima Nature Park

Finima Nature Park occupies the tip of Bonny Island, a roughly 40-minute ferry ride from Port Harcourt's Bonny Waterside. The park protects a strip of forest and beach that is one of the last significant stretches of undeveloped coastline in Rivers State. It is managed with a focus on conservation and ecotourism, and a small but professional team of guides leads walks through the forest to look for birds, primates, and the mangrove ecosystems that line the island's margins.

The park can arrange birdwatching excursions, fishing trips, and visits to nearby traditional communities on Bonny Island. Access requires taking the ferry to Bonny Island and then making your way to the park's entrance — the journey is part of the experience, passing through the maze of delta channels and past the vast LNG infrastructure that occupies much of the island. Book ahead if you want a guided programme; day visitors are also welcome.
