The largest market in Adamawa State, in central Jimeta. The aisles run for several blocks and cover the usual breadth of a Nigerian market — yams, dried fish, indigo cloth, plastic ware, leatherwork, herbal medicine — with a strong presence of Fulani traders bringing in cattle products and dairy.
Best in the morning before the heat builds. As anywhere in Nigeria, keep valuables out of sight, carry small notes, and arrange a local guide if the city is unfamiliar.
