Barewa College

Founded in 1922 as the Katsina College, Barewa College is one of the most historically significant secondary schools in Nigeria. It educated many of the country's founding generation of politicians and administrators, including Ahmadu Bello himself, and has been called the "Eton of Nigeria" for its role in shaping the northern elite. The colonial-era buildings are handsome and well-maintained. Visitors with an interest in Nigerian political history will find the school's heritage significant; the grounds are accessible during school hours.
