Nyungwe is built around two main draws: primate tracking and forest walking. Chimpanzee tracking is the marquee activity, but the canopy walkway and the dozen or so waymarked trails are what make a multi-day visit worthwhile. Most activities run from the Uwinka Reception Centre or Gisakura on the western edge, and all require a guide and a permit booked through the Rwanda Development Board.
