Food in Cap Skirring is dominated by fresh fish — the catch comes straight off the beach in the afternoon and onto the grill at restaurants by evening. Thiéboudienne, the Senegalese national dish of rice cooked in tomato sauce with fish and vegetables, is available everywhere and done well here. Local palm wine (available in the villages, less so in the resort restaurants) and fresh coconut are the characteristic drinks. The larger hotels have their own restaurants; the beach shacks near the fishing landing serve cheaper and often more authentic food.
