Sherbro Island's appeal is its remoteness. There are no formal tourist sites with opening hours and admission tickets — what the island offers is history written in crumbling architecture, waterways full of birds and fish, and a way of life that has changed remarkably little over generations. Come with low expectations for infrastructure and high tolerance for improvisation.
