Green Point Park was laid out in 2010 around the new World Cup stadium, on land formerly occupied by a golf course. It is one of the few well-designed contemporary public parks in Cape Town, with a free-to-enter biodiversity garden of indigenous fynbos, water features, a children's playground and a network of well-used jogging paths.
The park is a good central place to walk, picnic or let kids burn off energy, and its position between the city centre and the Waterfront makes it easy to combine with other visits. Free Wi-Fi covers most of the park, and a small kiosk sells coffee and snacks.
