Haiku occupies an elegantly converted space in Heritage Square, the restored 18th-century block in the heart of the City Bowl. The menu ranges across East and Southeast Asian cuisines — Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese — without collapsing into fusion confusion. Dim sum, sushi, wok dishes and robata-grilled items all appear on the same menu, and the kitchen handles each competently. The cocktail list is good and the space fills up on weekday evenings.
A reliable choice when a group can't agree on a single cuisine, and one of the better options for a smart but not-too-formal dinner in the City Bowl. Walk-ins are possible early in the week; book for weekends.
