Llandudno Beach is one of the Cape Peninsula's most handsome beaches, set below mountains and framed by large granite boulders. The sand and scenery are the draw, with a wilder feel than the busier Atlantic Seaboard beaches closer to central Cape Town.
Surfers come for the break, but swimmers should be cautious: the Atlantic water is cold and the sea can be rough. Visit for a beach walk, sunset, or a quieter coastal pause, and pair it with nearby Hout Bay or Sandy Bay.
