The N2 runs the length of the region inland; nearly every coastal village is reached by a dirt road spur off the N2. A rental car is the most flexible way to explore — a normal sedan will get you to most places in the dry season, but book a 4x4 or high-clearance vehicle if you plan to go to the more remote beaches. For backpackers, the Baz Bus stops at the main lodges on its route between Durban and Port Elizabeth.
