The Red Sea diving is best between October and May, when visibility is highest and surface conditions are calmest. June through September brings heat, wind, and reduced visibility — liveaboard operators tend to pause operations in summer.
Port Sudan is hot year-round, with temperatures regularly exceeding 40°C in summer. Winter (December to February) is the most comfortable time for any land activity.
