Kigoma is a base for two of Tanzania's most remarkable wildlife experiences — Gombe and Mahale — and for trips on Lake Tanganyika itself. The town has a few sights of its own, mostly tied to the colonial railway and the lake trade, but the real highlights are out on the water.
