Several small seasonal waterfalls and rock pools tumble off the Malfakassa escarpment after rain, with the most accessible reachable on a half-day's walk from camp. The pools below the falls are clear, cool and a serious relief in the heat of the dry season — the walk back through the gallery forest with damp clothes is one of the best small experiences in the park.
Conditions vary sharply with the season. After the rains (October–December), the falls are full and the walk into them can be slippery; by late dry season (February–April) the falls are reduced to trickles but the pools remain. Ask at the headquarters about which routes are currently passable.
