About five kilometres north of Kpalimé on the road to Klouto, the Centre Artisanal is a workshop and showroom where local craftsmen produce batik fabrics, wood carvings, and woven baskets. You can watch the wax-resist dyeing in progress and buy directly from the makers.
The quality is generally higher than the souvenirs sold at Lomé's tourist stalls, and the prices are more reasonable. The batik tablecloths and shirts in particular are good value. Cash only; CFA preferred.
