Getting There

Togoville is reached most enjoyably by pirogue from Agbodrafo on the coast road, a 35-minute crossing of Lake Togo that is half the point of the trip. Pirogues leave from the Togoville-Débarcadère pier whenever they fill up; allow a little time to wait, or charter a boat for a small premium. The other option is a short drive on a paved road that loops around the eastern end of the lake — quicker, less interesting, and useful mainly if you have a lot of luggage or are travelling at night.

From Lomé, reach Agbodrafo by shared taxi from the Marché d'Agbalépedo or by chartered taxi for about 8,000 to 12,000 CFA depending on negotiation. The journey is around an hour by road. Some Lomé operators run organised half-day or day trips that bundle road and boat transport with a guide; for a first-time visitor, this is often the easiest way.
