Nefta has no airport of its own; the nearest is at Tozeur, 22 km east, which has direct flights from Tunis and seasonal European charters. From Tunis the overland journey is long — 7 hours by car, longer by bus or shared taxi (louage). Most visitors combine Nefta with Tozeur and the Chott el-Jerid in a single trip.
