The dry season from June to October is the main Mana Pools season. Wildlife concentrates along the Zambezi and the remaining pools, roads are more reliable, and walking conditions are best. August and September are superb for game viewing, though the days grow hot.
October and early November can be brutally hot, with temperatures above 40°C. The game viewing can be exceptional, but this is not the time to underestimate dehydration or vehicle problems. The rains from November to April make the park green and beautiful but can close roads and disperse wildlife. Many public facilities reduce operations during the wettest months.
