Chimbuk Hill, at about 2500 feet, is the third highest point in Bangladesh and one of the most accessible viewpoints in the Bandarban hills. The road from Bandarban town climbs through a series of hairpin bends past indigenous Mro villages to a military checkpoint and then to a viewing platform at the summit. On clear days — which in this region means predominantly the dry season, October to March — the views across the layered ridges of the hill tracts are extraordinary.
The road is surfaced and accessible by jeep, CNG, or motorbike. The journey takes about 45 minutes from Bandarban in good conditions. A military permit is sometimes required; check current requirements at the district headquarters before setting out. There is a basic restaurant at the summit serving tea and snacks.
