Bandarban is about 92km south of Chittagong. Buses run regularly between Chittagong's Bahaddarhat terminal and Bandarban throughout the day; the journey takes 2-3 hours depending on traffic. There are also direct buses from Dhaka (around 8-10 hours overnight). No trains serve Bandarban.
Within the district, CNG auto-rickshaws and motorbikes cover the main routes; jeeps are needed for the rougher roads toward Chimbuk, Nilgiri, and beyond. Jeep hire is arranged through guest houses and local tour operators in Bandarban town.
